If it wasn’t an absolutely wild and messy story I wouldn’t even bother telling it but the #1 tennis player in the world is being treated incredibly unfairly. Jannik Sinner, the greatest tennis player in the world right now, just got suspended for three months for taking drugs that he didn’t know he was taking and didn’t benefit from. What are we doing?
The World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) recently completed a report that found that Sinner had neither sought nor gained a competitive advantage from the banned substance that was found in his urine last March. They concluded after multiple interviews, that he didn’t intend to cheat and he did not get any benefit from the chemical—clostebol—which was acquired over the counter. They believe that this happened without his knowledge but as a result of the negligence of his team. So why is he getting suspended?
