What happened?

Snoop you have disappointed us massively. Nelly, too. Y’all performed at a Trump inaugural event? And then tried to act like it was all good? Your crime is ultimately the same, but you two have disappointed me in different ways.

I cannot recall Snoop fans being mad at him for anything ever and right now people are very mad. He performed at some Crypto Ball during the inauguration and it was widely perceived as turning his back on the community that’s loved him for decades. He hasn’t said anything. He hasn’t explained his thinking at all. He’s in hiding. He’s in a secure location, far away from cameras and mics, waiting for all this to die down. I think Snoop has become addicted to that massive level of crossover fame he’s fallen into. He’s joking around on the Olympics, he’s palling around with Martha Stewart, he’s clowning for T-Mobile—there’s nothing wrong with any of those things but what I see is someone who’s become mass market and is operating at such a high level of fame that he thinks being at the Trump inauguration is good for him because he knows many of his fans are there. But if many of your fans are Trump inauguration type people, you’re doing something wrong.
