I watched the interview because had to understand why he was wearing that Klan suit. Surely he would explain why. At first, I thought maybe he would announce that he’s actually joining the Klan. Or maybe he’s just dying to be the Black community’s #1 villain. If Hiphop took place in Gotham City he would be our Joker.
Kanye is the enigmatic, psychopathic, clown prince of crimes against hiphop. Both Kanye and the Joker have a lot of intelligence, little to no conscience, and significant mental health issues. For both of them, spectacle is everything. The Joker claims to be indifferent to everything but desperately craves Batman's attention and validation. Kanye acts like he’s indifferent to everything, he’s so cool even racism doesn’t trigger him, but he desperately craves the attention and respectability of Kendrick and Jay-Z. Both Kanye and the Joker are the personification of the irrational. They symbolize the brilliant crazy person with a warped, sadistic sense of humor who wants to troll the world for their own amusement.
So I assumed that obviously Akademics would ask him right away Why are you wearing a Klan suit? What are you saying with this? Do you think you’re needlessly triggering people with that? Simple, obvious, direct questions about the elephant in the room. Of course Ak couldn’t ask simple, direct questions, he is not up to the task of an interview like this, he interviews like a breathless fan, but I figured out why he wore it by piecing together things he said.
