The End of the Jaguar Wright Show
The Black Alex Jones has been sent back to the internet fever swamps
Someone said Jaguar Wright is the Black Alex Jones but now the circle is complete. Being “the Black Alex Jones” is about spreading baseless conspiracy theories and getting knocked off your mainstream pedestal because of your baseless conspiracy theories. Wright has been hanging out in the fever swamps of Hiphop YouTube for years, spreading wild stories about lots of famous people in Black music from Badu and Talib Kweli to Diddy and the Carters. She has become known for saying wild things about everyone—that’s her brand now. Then she popped up on Piers Morgan’s internet show Uncensored. That changed things—suddenly she was mainstreamed. That gave her a wider reach and the sheen of respectability. Which made her much more dangerous. The Carters decided it was time to pick up the phone. They knew Morgan is much more vulnerable to legal action than Wright for two reasons—he has money and he’s connected to a business which means he has a boss.
For a long time people have tried to defend Wright by saying, hey, if what she’s saying is untrue, why haven’t Jay and Bey sued her? There’s many good reasons to not sue someone, but after Wright was on Morgan’s show the Carter’s attorney sent Morgan an ultimatum which can also be called a threat letter. (It was not a cease and desist). He demanded that Morgan retract Wright’s accusations against the Carters and apologize. If not he’d take Morgan to court.
At that point Morgan, and by extension Wright, had a choice. They could’ve said, hey she’s telling the truth and she can prove it so take us to court if you dare, you can’t bully us, our whole thing is standing up for the truth. They did not say any of that. Morgan went on the air almost immediately and apologized. (He looked like a pathetic, scared little boy who just finished getting spanked.) That is a clear sign that Wright is not prepared to defend her wild accusations in court. If Wright had evidence and receipts, then she and Morgan would have stood up to this threat. It could’ve been an exciting public crusade against bullying from the elite as they stood together, two intrepid warriors for truth, going to court and battling the Carters. It would’ve been amazing for their brands and given them a ton of attention and, possibly, the chance to laugh a juicy countersuit against the Carters. But Morgan and Wright did not stand up to the threat because Wright has no evidence and no receipts.
So this is the end of Wright appearing on mainstream media. (Jay’s line, “Grand opening, grand closing,” comes to mind.) We will not see her spreading conspiracy theories on any serious outlet because she’s tacitly conceded that she’s not telling the truth and no one wants to risk a defamation suit. It’s fun to gossip in the corner, but an extended campaign of lies on a huge platform makes it harder to know what’s true.
I know there are people who still believe Wright. (There are people who still believe Alex Jones.) That’s your choice but never forget that when your girl’s stories were exposed to the slightest amount of legal scrutiny she ran.
I logically understand “Jaguar Wright is the black Alex jones,” but I think it could be a better comparison/ metaphor. I think the black Alex Jones would have to be a man, like Dr. Umar or someone. Jaguar and Alex Jones have very different affects, etc. Tasha K style is more similar to Alex Jones, they’re both always screaming and freaking me out and selling potions. anyway good article, I got a Substack for your channel! thanks!
