This is a terrible trend

We are in a world where there are invisible barriers preventing many Black men from attending college. Studies show that only about 27% of Black men get college degrees. About 41% white men get college degrees. About 50% of white women and 64% of Black women get college degrees. You can see that Black men are wildly undereducated compared to other demos. This is heartbreaking to me. This is a nationwide trend but here’s one stark example: Howard University is just 19% Black men. At that HBCU there are more non-Black students than Black male students. This is a harbinger of trouble for the entire Black community. I should say, a harbinger of even more trouble than we already are in, but still, this is bad. What’s going on? Let’s talk about it.
