I think that was the best choice for him, given everything going on here in LA and other states. He's extremely intelligent and can do whatever he wants. Good luck, Kanye! 🙏

"He can do whatever he wants" oh I hope he does, if only to remind us of everything we'd chosen to forget about him, or are still actively trying to ignore.

Ye will not be ignored.

He's currently 6th most streamed artist of the year on Spotify. Be clear, he's still very mainstream.

Still very mainstream for sure, but he's not as big as he used to be. He's alienated a lot of his fans and he needs to try to change the public narrative around himself.

Oh yes, he is definitely being mainstreamed still. I would not dispute that even a little bit. Clearly collectively people have decided nothing he has said or done over the past few years is truly over the line or worth making a continuing issue of.

He has really helped some white people be more comfortable with those kinds of things. He's been part of helping my neighbors know that they have no lasting reason to hid their fandom of a specific historical figure.

So he's bridging divides, isn't that wonderful?

Man so I guess we will never know when the Adolf stuff began or who he began saying it to. The Japanese have their own "history" with Adolf, so I really doubt anyone there would really take him to task for it. I get that everyone wants to pretend that didn't happen, it's just more than a little disappointing. I see more of that influence in his lyrics about power and control, so it's a little harder for me to ignore when it is part of his music. It is what it is, but the total lack of curiosity is weird.

But hey, he's "changing" and working on a new album, so isn't that something to celebrate? Phew! What a relief, so we can all just go back to how we thought about him before all that Harriet Tubman stuff too.

You’re a bitter person relax. No one in the real world is as affected than the actual physical world events we’re going through right now. We need a Ye album in the times of chaos many haven’t seen in a while

Less bitter than you, it seems. Go ahead and pity me, it'd be vaguely amusing.

Oh no, all the great music I will be missing out on... maybe you could buy an extra album for me.
